Law School

Perhaps the most stressful experience of my life. The anticipation, apprehension, and uncertainty are enough to drive anyone crazy. I am waiting for more decision letters and they can't come soon enough. I've gotten into 5 schools already: Western State, CA Western, Whittier, Golden Gate and DePaul. In corresponding order these schools are in; Fullerton, San Diego, Costa Mesa, SF, and Chicago. The first three I am not that excited about but I did get a 15,000 scholarship to the first two. Manny of the law school admissions forums have said that these schools are not well respected in the law community and so I hesitate to even consider attending. My seat deposit is due by the 15th of April so as to hold my seat for Fall. These are not binding but are not cheap either most around $200-400. Then I am waiting for the last 6 schools to reply as well, but i have to make the deposit if I want to go to the other schools by the 15th even if the other schools havent even replied. I visited Golden Gate and was not that impressed by it.

Then there is a chance that even if I put my seat deposit in that they will say they are revoking my admission once I disclose my DUI which I have not even been convicted on. I have to go to court on the 13th. It's all up in the air right now I will be happy when I finally figure out where I am going to be living for the next three years if I can even get into law school. Frustrated, confused, and pondering 1 time maybe more.

I know its a different beast to tackle going to Law School as opposed to going to UCR for under grad, but I believe the base principle still applies...your experience there will be dependent on what you put into it. So worst case scenario you have to go to a lower ranked Law School, make all the connections you can so people will see you as the knowledgeable person you are rather than categorize you by your enrollment history.

but i could be totally wrong too because law school is just ridiculous.

regardless, i'm proud of you sir.
