BCS (Bi-partisan Charisma Status?)
One of my great passions as of the past year has been college football an it makes for such an interesting debate each year who should play in the championship and all the bowl games which are the so-called post season for that system. Everyone thinks that there should be a playoff system but where would we be if not for tradition in college football. Then all this controversy over who can be in and out. I dig the arguments and as I was watching around the Horn this morning one of my favorite sports talk shows they were in heated argument about this year's championship game. Of course everyone knows that Oklahoma is a high-powered offense but they ran up the score no question to put 60 on a team that you know you can beat is not sportsmanship. However if they did not beat teams by this margin would they be where they are today? it is a good question and one I will let you ponder. Texas got shafted so did USC and Tech in my opinion. Texas has the biggest gripe because they played and beat Oklahoma on a neutral field, however they lost to Tech who also only has one loss to Oklahoma(ran up the score there as well). USC lost to Oregon state on the road but decisively it was a close game but they did lose. Texas lost int eh last second on the road witht eh famous Crabtree catch. I argue least for Tech because they are not as agood a team as Texas or USC however the only team not slated for controversy is Florida who as of a few weeks ago were not in the title game and became relevant all of a sudden. BCS is not a good system but a tradition oreiented one. If Michigan or Ohio State went undefeated in teh Big 10 even though Ohio State played USC this year(got killed) they would be in the national championship because they are two of the more storied programs in college football. Michigan for good reason being the winningest program in NCAA history. It's not fair but who should be in the titele game, and who is to say? 1 time 4 your mind...out

Turkey Day
I like the idea that you should think about what we are all thankful for because reflection of our current situation always leads to an improved outlook on life. But, while we should be thankful for all that we have it is my view that these things should not be the only ones on our mind because no matter how much we have we can always try to increase our standard of living not necessarily by getting more material things. It could be improving our relationships or hanging out with people to brighten their day. I'm not saying we shouldn't take what we have for granted but if we are never completely satisfied then life will always get better the longer we work. I might be considered a hipocrite in this area of life because I have not been improving my life in a lot of ways. How about looking at things we have to see what we want? That really starts to be the root of the issue when we think about Thanksgiving and the traditional concept that it has come to represent. 1 Time for your mind..

1st time
My 1st blog...
As I sit here typing thinking and reading different editorials otherwise known as opinionated articles I can't help but analyze the more basic instincts we have for expressing ourselves. Since when has it been so important to let everyone who happens to stumble across your publication exactly what you think and why? I understand that communication is an important and somewhat valuable commodity but the underlying reasons for starting this blog seem foreign to my minds process. There are some pros to this world of thought because it is just that, thought provoking but otherwise where are the standards for judging opinion and what is allowable to be said. Can anything be argued for, I would assume so but I digress, the point is why are we venting our feelings. I find it somewhat relaxing and to have my thoughts written gives purpose to thinking them. So is the very act of writing things down the real benefit or do we want to feel that our thoughts are more than just ideas that they symbolize us and our process of thought which may be new and exciting or may be boring and uninteresting. However if we never write it down no one will ever know the difference we are then silent and mute. Our brainpower is spinning a wheel uselessly in our heads where no one can identify it as something worth noting. How many people have lost that great idea because they didn;t have the audacity to write or the ability to convey it in a legible manner. I encourage anyone to read others opinions then form your own opinion either taking bits and pieces or sticking to your own and write it down so that it can be seen and so that your contribution to humanity is not lost in thought but dsimissed over the web like this blog. 1 in a million but 1 time 4 your mind.
